If you are within your update period and have an internet connection to connect to Autel's server, I was basically  told from support, that the thousands of 12+8 cables will still be supported and will work as before if you still decide to use one.

I will probably not give Chrysler my $50 for now and be happy to do what I can to get by with reading codes and clearing what I can by hard battery resets until the High Tide of Turds is at my door.
